Comprehensive Plans

Comprehensive Plans are road maps that outline how a long-term vision for land development will be implemented over time.  Comprehensive Plans help communities identify present issues and opportunities, define their vision, serve as a guideline for future growth and development by informing development decisions for the next decade, and create work programs for the five-year planning horizon to help the community achieve incremental implementation of policies and programs as funding becomes available.  Typical elements that comprise a comprehensive plan include jurisdictional vision, goals, strategies, land use consideration, real estate and economic market analysis, transportation, housing, community work programs, and capital improvement elements. 

Keck + Wood has collaborated with a number of partners and jurisdictions on Comprehensive Plan development and implementation.  From participating in stakeholder meetings, to public engagement activities, to development of transportation elements, the Keck + Wood Team proactively collaborates with stakeholders across a broad spectrum to ensure communities celebrate how far they’ve come, pinpoint where they are at the present time, identify where they want to go and develop a solid course of action to get there.
