“Keck & Wood developed a stormwater master plan for a 573-acre portion of the City of Winder prone to flooding. The plan involved collecting survey data on existing stormwater infrastructure and gathering SUE information as needed. Storm sewer videos were recorded and analyzed to assess the system’s condition. A comprehensive hydrologic and hydraulic analysis identified existing issues and potential solutions for the area. A CIP project list and cost estimates were created based on the analysis findings. Preliminary designs and cost estimates for top-priority projects were also prepared.

The upstream basins, covering 140 acres of developed downtown areas, consisted mainly of closed pipe drainage systems. These systems underwent a detailed hydrologic and hydraulic study. The remaining 433 acres, mostly rural with open channel flow and culvert crossings, were analyzed using HEC-RAS software. A list of system deficiencies was created, followed by schematic solutions and a ranked CIP list with cost estimates. The final master plan report was compiled and presented to the City of Winder.”
