Windemere Crossing Forsyth, GA

The subject culvert is located in the Daves Creek basin, adjacent to the Grandview Subdivision in the Windermere Golf Community, and conveys water underneath an earthen embankment which carries the Amenity Access Road.  The culvert, which was designed and built in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, consists of three 84” corrugated metal pipes (CMP) which are connected on the upstream end to a concrete weir wall that serves as a regional detention structure.  Due to deficiencies in the CMP’s, a major storm event on October 10, 2020 led to a major failure of the culvert and washout of the embankment.  Keck & Wood provided a PER report with reconstruction options with cost estimates.  KW also prepared construction plans and provided bidding and construction administration services.
