EPA Lead & Copper Rule Projects

Keck & Wood is assisting Barrow County, Georgia, with the development of an inventory of lead service lines (LSLs) as part of compliance with the EPA’s 2024 regulations, including prioritizing and identifying customers with LSLs and making the data publicly available. In Hapeville, Georgia, Keck & Wood is coordinating efforts to gather records, scan paper documents, and create GIS maps to track service line materials and develop a sampling schedule for schools and childcare facilities. In Temple, Georgia, Keck & Wood is compiling LSL data while replacing water meters and developing strategies for corrective actions, including GIS mapping, inventory creation, and a lead service line replacement plan. The team will also collaborate with city staff in all three locations to review and update data, prepare sampling schedules, and ensure proper sampling of schools and childcare facilities. Once the LSL inventories are completed, the water systems will be prepared to sample and monitor lead levels and verify compliance with action levels.
