Ground Storage Tank & Pump, York, SC

Keck & Wood was hired by the City of York to design a new water pumping station and 1.5 million gallon ground storage tank to enhance the City’s ability to purchase water from the York County system. They developed a hydraulic model to size the pump station and storage tank, designing a factory-built, skid-mounted station with two 150-horsepower pumps, and space for a third pump in the future. The station includes variable frequency drives for energy conservation, a natural gas-powered emergency backup generator, and infrastructure to accommodate a future ground storage tank if needed. Keck & Wood also prepared technical specifications and prequalified pump station manufacturers to ensure high-quality bids.
